Durban: Friday 20 April 2021, as we know that the Open door crisis centre of Pinetown aims to assists schools around Pinetown to better their education ensure their safety in schools during this trying time where the country is in dire help due to the COVID19 pandemic. Schools in disadvantaged communities it has come to light that they will be set aback in their learning due to lack of resources, online services and tutoring during this time. Private schools as much as they are not in school premises but they are still maintaining communication with learners and parents to assist keeping on track with syllabus. This will somehow ensure that children are safe and well taken care off.

The Open door crisis centre in Pinetown has developed a programme that will help learners assist learners to be able to keep in contact with their educators during this time to keep them aboard with their lessons. This programme entails providing with area routers for each area for learners to use for online interaction with their educators. This as  much it will reach everyone but that percentage that we will be able assist is better than not assisting anyone, those who have received help will be able to assist teachers in  way and also help their peers to catch up with their studies.

This will help in levelling our education system and help our children. Parents are urged to work with us during this trying time and also assist children with their activities that they have been given and find ways to submit these activities. And also we urge parents to allow their children to use their cell phones for those periods when the teacher has sent them something or if at work pass on those activities to their children when they get home.

We as the Open door crisis centre wish to work closely with the community to help our children and doing so we urge everyone to keep safe and follow regulations that have been set by our government. For more information please feel free to contact me at nonhlanxumalo@live.com.
